Its been quite some time since we had a snow fall like this in England as always it brings the whole country to a stand still for 48 hours. Traffic jams and trains cancelled and our plans for the day were totally rescheduled but then it means you just have to enjoy it. We happened to be back at my parents when it snowed so were pretty much snowed in for the day, which was lovely. Ollie and I bunged on jumpers and went out in the snow with Beau, who loved it, she even rolled around in it making her version of snow angels aha!
With Christmas mere days away I’ve been thinking a lot about the year thats past and hopefully will be publishing a round up/highlights post towards the end of next week. Today I’m officially finished with work for the year and the out of office is on and I can relax! I’m really looking forward to the week ahead, a lot of food in particular cheese and most of all spending time with my family and loved ones.
After watching Lizzie’s weekly vlog and then reading Emma-Louise’s blog post; ‘The reality of Christmas for me’ it made me think about how Christmas isn’t always a joyous time of year for everyone. Its a reminder of loss for so many and that makes me feel sad but also reminds me how lucky I am to have certain people in my life and that I should always make sure they know how much they’re loved. A little reminder that sometimes someone might just need a phone call to say hello, how are you? and know things will get better. As much as I personally love Christmas and spending time with family is the most special part of Christmas to me it has been so commercialised I do think its important to remember its a time to be thankful and to relax. I’m not meaning to be negative about this time of year as it truly is one of my favourites as it follows my birthday and I love the build up to the 25th but I do think it’s important to remember that’s not the case for everyone.
I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, however you may be spending it and look forward to rounding off the year with a highlights post.
